Windows 2000 MCSA Certification Requirements
Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) on Microsoft Windows 2000 candidates are required to pass three core exams and one elective exam that provide a valid and reliable measure of technical proficiency and expertise in administering and supporting existing Windows 2000-based systems, including Windows .NET Server.
An MCSA on Windows 2000 candidate should have six to 12 months of experience implementing and administering a desktop operating system, implementing and administering a network operating system, and managing an existing network infrastructure.

Core Exams Candidates of MCSA on Windows 2000 have the option to complete their certifications with Windows 2000 or Windows XP Professional/Windows .NET Server exams or a combination of both for a total of three core operating system exams.

Networking System Exams (2 Required) Candidates must choose one exam from each pair of alternatives shown at right. For example, a candidate must pass either exam 70-215 or exam 70-275, but will not receive credit for both if both are passed.

70-240 - Microsoft Windows 2000 Accelerated Exam for MCPs Certified on Microsoft Windows NT 4.0. (Available through December 31, 2001.
