Cisco CCNA Certification Boot CampCCNA Certification Boot Camp Schedule
CCNA BasicsCCNA emphasizes the technology and skills needed to work with networks of 100 nodes or fewer. It covers both IP and non-IP networks including IPX and AppleTalk. The key networking technologies and concepts one must be familiar with to pass CCNA include the following:
Becoming a CCNAThe CCNA exam lasts approximately two hours, and no prerequisite exams need to be completed first. The exam contains approximately 78 questions. Older versions of the test required only 75-90 minutes to complete and included only about 65 questions, so Cisco appears to be following a trend of expanding the scope of the test. Approximately 80 percent of the questions must be answered correctly to pass the CCNA test. An exam fee of approximately $100 (USD) will be charged, so it is in the student's best interest to come fully prepared. A CCNA certification remains valid for three years, at which time an official recertification exam can be taken. Other Cisco Networking CertificationsCCNA is the first in a series of three certification programs in Cisco's "Routing and Switching" career track. The table below lists each program and the typical background of those who will most benefit from it.
Cisco also offers additional certification tracks in networking, including "WAN Switching" and "Service Provider" tracks. Some people have commented that the CCNA is a "bookish" exam. One need not have any hands-on experience with Cisco routers, for example, in order to pass. Many believe, however, the CCNA test is more difficult to pass than Microsoft's MCSE or Novell's CNE. Overall, the CCNA has grown significantly in popularity and should be a worthwhile addition to the resume of many networking professionals. We have designed an affordable and expedient method to help information technology professionals obtain CCNA certification. CED Solutions' CCNA class guides you through configuring, troubleshooting, and administering Cisco routers, focusing on what you need to know to pass the CCNA exam. This intensive yet affordable program allows you to obtain your Cisco CCNA certification in short order. At our CCNA class, you will learn to install, configure and operate simple-routed LAN, routed WAN and switched LAN networks to increase bandwidth, improve response times and enhance reliability and quality of service. You will learn techniques that can save time and money by reducing network downtime, addressing network security issues, and ensuring maximum network performance. We are staffed with experienced trainers with proven success rates. The objective of our CCNA class is certification, and our methodology is geared towards a high success rate for passing the certification exams. The CCNA is the base level of Network Support certification from Cisco Systems®. This overview is based on the new CCNA 2.0 objectives. You can find full information about the CCNA 2.0 direct from the Cisco Career Certification Web site. CCNA OverviewRouting and SwitchingThe CCNA is part of the Routing and Switching career certification track and is designed for network professionals who work with Cisco internetworking devices. The level of configuration aims at traditional LAN and WAN devices such as Routers and Switches. The Routing and Switching career certification path is further broken down into Network Support and Network Design. The CCNA is a requirement in both the Network Support and Network Design paths. The CCNA is the entry level certification required in the Network Support career path. However, the CCNA is also required in order to attain the CCDP design career certification. For the Network Design career path, the CCNA is required in between the CCDA and CCDP certifications. Therefore, you cannot attain the CCDP without first passing the CCNA exam. CCNA Study PathCisco provides a study path in order to attain the CCNA certification. The first place to start is with the Cisco Internetworking Handbook. The information from this handbook is taught at our classes and boot camps. After the fundamental knowledge gained from the Internetworking Handbook you are advised to attend the Interconnecting Cisco Network Devices (ICND) course. This course replaces the old Introduction to Cisco Router Configuration (ICRC). This new course concentrates a lot more on switching and provides all of the knowledge required for the newer CCNA certification. This course is instructor led. CCNA ExamCurrently, you only have to pass one exam in order to achieve CCNA status. This exam is the CCNA 2.0 Exam Number 640-801.
